The Brief and Background
To create a new website for Things Happen Here — a live music venue, taproom and events space in Dartington near Totnes. A simple website was required to showcase their music, events and personality. Things Happen Here features a taproom, an event venue with live music, stand-up comedy, crafting sessions, game nights, and beer tasting experiences, among other activities.
Bespoke Website Design
The website was built to adapt beautifully to devices large or small — giving a smooth and fluid user experience whether visitors are browsing on their phone at the bar or on a laptop at home planning their next visit. The design was centred around the new logo identity, extending it into an exciting but gritty look and feel that showcases their many service areas.

Brand Personality
The brief called for a vibrant, gritty modern punk feel with a bit of indie thrown in. Something fun and fresh — in their own words: "Something fresh for the beer drinkers, music lovers, dancers, crafters and our cracking community." Every design decision, from typography to imagery, was made to reflect that spirit and speak directly to their audience.
