The Brief and Background
Drift Advice and Barefoot Youth Charity together identified the need to rebrand the Barefoot branding and ensure their sub-brand 'Spaceshot' is used and linked correctly, as well as improve the overall look and use of the charity brand. Barefoot and Spaceshot are youth charities based in Plymouth, Devon. Their vision is to help young people believe in themselves, feel safe, and take control of their futures.
Talking Heads
Open, supportive and honest communication from young people to youth workers — and vice versa — proved to be key to Barefoot's support. After initial concept work we based the final creative solutions around the idea of 'talking' and 'talking heads'. This gave the new brand a warm, human identity that resonates directly with the young people the charity serves.

Flexible Brand Guidelines
We provided detailed brand guidelines for internal staff at Barefoot and SpaceShot to utilise. Featuring typefaces, clear usage rules, colour palettes and space rules — these guidelines ensure a consistent, professional appearance across every touchpoint, from social media to printed materials.

SpaceShot Sub-Brand
Part of the brief was the importance that the sub-brand SpaceShot visually linked to the new branding for Barefoot, while retaining the colours from the previous logo. We created a cohesive system that allows both identities to work independently and together, reinforcing the connection between the two charities.

A cohesive rebrand that connects two youth charity identities under a single visual system. From concept through to guidelines, every detail was crafted to help Barefoot and SpaceShot communicate their mission more powerfully.



Flexibility by Design
We opted for a friendly, modern feel. Though technically more difficult to develop, the overall effect makes the charity stand out in a competitive space — helping Barefoot and SpaceShot command attention in grant applications, social media, and community outreach alike.
Barefoot Rebrand
The refreshed Barefoot identity strikes the perfect balance between approachable and credible. The brand now better communicates the charity's values to young people, families, donors and stakeholders — giving the organisation a platform to grow from.
