Club Flyer Design: London Burlesque Social Club Flyers

By Gareth Coxon, September 20, 2008

I received these club flyers via email as part of the new marketing campaign from Madame Jojo’s Nightclub and just had to post them up. They are in my opinion a good example of great flyer design. Using a pulp fiction / freak show style of illustration they really standout.

One side uses a very british / london 60’s illustration style with union jack in the background, bold use of colour and re-using the London Tube identity design for its logo, it really uses its london location within its flyer design.

The other side plays more on the freak show elements in its design with a different style of illustration and different use of colour and I think it works very well as a contemporary take on the old circus/ freak show style.

What do you think?

Hi Steve, they are great aren’t they, some really good illustrations on them.

Kim, I should imagine they exist as actual printed flyers but I haven’t managed to get hold of a copy yet but I’m keeping my eyes peeled!
Also Kim your interview is coming very soon…

Thanks to both of you for the comments!
